The beach season in Montenegro has officially opened. Particularly in popular coastal cities such as Budva, Kotor, and Tivat, beaches and tourist facilities have opened their doors to visitors. This year, Air Montenegro has made travel even easier by expanding its flight network, introducing new routes from Tivat to Izmir and other European destinations. This has increased interest in the region and positively impacted the tourism sector.
The swimming season in Montenegro generally starts in May and lasts until October. During this period, air and sea temperatures are very suitable for sea activities and beach vacations.
In May, air temperatures range between 20-25°C on average, while sea temperatures are around 18-20°C. In the summer months, particularly in July and August, air temperatures rise to 30-35°C, with sea temperatures ranging between 25-27°C. In September and October, air temperatures gradually start to drop, but the sea remains suitable for swimming, maintaining temperatures between 20-23°C.
These dates are the ideal period for those looking to enjoy the sea in Montenegro. In early spring or late autumn, sea temperatures can be slightly cooler, so the May-October period is considered the best time for a beach holiday.
